The new "SHOKUGAN MODELING PROJECT" (SMP) series, an evolution of the popular Super Minipla (スーパーミニプラ) candy toy model kits, is set to release a limited edition product in June 2022. This special release features units from the classic robot anime "Blue Comet SPT Layzner": the protagonist's unit Layzner and the enemy unit Zakarl (ザカール), both in their V-MAX activated versions!
"Blue Comet SPT Layzner" (蒼き流星SPTレイズナー), produced by Sunrise, originally premiered in 1985. The story follows the protagonist, Eiji, a hybrid born from an Earthling and a Gradosian. Upon learning of Grados's intent to invade Earth, Eiji pilots the combat robot Layzner, equipped with the artificial intelligence system "Ray," to warn Earth's inhabitants. The narrative then unfolds through the ensuing conflicts between the two factions and the journey of Eiji and his companions.
