BANDAI SPIRITS' TAMASHII NATIONS collectible toy division, known for its popular "Chogokin Damashii" series, recently announced the latest addition to the "Daiku-Maryu" lineup: the "GX-100X Gaiking & Daiku-Maryu Enhanced Parts Set." This new set follows the release of the Chogokin Damashii GX-100 Gaiking & Daiku-Maryu and is slated for a July 2022 release.
The Daiku-Maryu is the iconic dragon-shaped mobile fortress that debuted in Toei's first original robot anime, "Daiku-Maryu Gaiking," in 1976. Measuring 400 meters long and weighing 3,800 tons, it's capable of traversing air, land, deep sea, and even outer space. While the fortress itself is equipped with various combat armaments, its primary fighting power relies on the super robot Gaiking, which is stored within. By launching Gaiking's torso, leg components, and the Daiku-Maryu's head, they combine to form Gaiking!
The newly released "GX-100X Gaiking & Daiku-Maryu Enhanced Parts Set" includes additional armaments designed to be used with the separately sold Gaiking & Daiku-Maryu main unit. With its super weapon head and larger, enhanced limbs, collectors can recreate the even more imposing "Enhanced Gaiking"!
In Daiku-Maryu form, the set adds a "Super Large Blade" for the abdomen, massive claws that can be mounted on the chest or head, and the colossal "I-Miracle Drill" which can be equipped by either Gaiking or Daiku-Maryu. When the Daiku-Maryu is fitted with the "I-Miracle Drill," its total length extends to an impressive 1 meter, allowing for even more dynamic display possibilities!
