Japanese model maker MEGAHOUSE today announced the latest additions to their original articulated figure series, "DESKTOP ARMY," in collaboration with illustrator neco's original artwork series "Heavy Weapon High School Girls." The new products, "Second Squad San" and "Second Squad Shi," are slated for release in late July 2022.
"Heavy Weapon High School Girls" (重兵装型女子高生) is an illustration series by artist neco, which began in 2014. Neco masterfully blends high school girls with futuristic weaponry, creating a striking contrast between student uniforms and mechanical armaments. Through unique brushwork and color palettes, neco highlights the aesthetic beauty of the machinery, imbuing the high school girls with not only a cute appearance but also a cool, stylish demeanor.
The "DESKTOP ARMY x Heavy Weapon High School Girls Second Squad San" figure stands at 80mm tall, faithfully recreating neco's design with an adorable chibi-style base body. It features multiple points of articulation throughout, and comes with unarmed parts and a "sleeping expression" face plate for customization. Her signature "Great Axe" and "Axe Scabbard" armaments have been redesigned with a new form that connects to her back.
Similarly, the "DESKTOP ARMY x Heavy Weapon High School Girls Second Squad Shi" figure also stands at 80mm tall, capturing neco's aesthetic with an adorable chibi-style base body. It boasts multiple points of articulation and includes unarmed parts along with a "smiling face" plate. Her weaponry features the original giant "Katana" and "Scabbard," reimagined with a new design that connects to her back.
By combining the armaments of both characters, collectors can assemble the DESKTOP ARMY original weapon, "34 Arrangement," which can wield both characters' weapons simultaneously!
