Japan's GOOD SMILE COMPANY is set to release a new entry in its "MODEROID" model kit series: the protagonist mecha "Ten no Zeorymer" from the classic OVA series "Project Zeorymer"! This highly anticipated kit is scheduled for release in July 2022.
The series "Project Zeorymer" (冥王計画プロジェクトゼオライマー) was created by Japanese manga artist Chimoriwo (later known as Yoshiki Takaya) and began serialization in the manga magazine "Lemon People" in October 1983. The original manga incorporated adult themes alongside its Super Robot sci-fi elements. In 1988, an OVA adaptation was released, which removed the adult content and featured a slightly different story and setting from the manga. This OVA version was also the basis for the mecha's debut in the "Super Robot Wars MX" game.

The story follows protagonist Masato Akitsu, who is forcibly abducted by the organization "Last Guardian" and compelled to pilot the giant robot Zeorymer. During his first sortie, another personality within Masato awakens, annihilating the attacking enemy, Saiga, one of Tekkoryu's Hakkashu. Later, after being kidnapped by Tekkoryu's Yurates, Masato learns about his true origins and his inseparable connection to Zeorymer. From then on, he partners with the heroine Miku to pilot Zeorymer and battle incoming foes.
In the narrative, Zeorymer was originally developed by Tekkoryu as the strongest humanoid weapon for their Hakkashu, intended for world conquest. Representing the "Heaven" (Ten) element of the Hakkashu, it is also known as Ten no Zeorymer. The unit is equipped with a unique "Dimensional Coupling System," allowing it to perform spatial jumps, energy waves, and attacks like the "Dimensional Coupling Cannon." Its most powerful attack is the "Meiou Attack."
This MODEROID Ten no Zeorymer model kit stands approximately 15 cm tall, faithfully recreating the distinctive prominent shoulders and head horns seen in the OVA. Its highly articulated joints allow for dynamic posing, including the iconic Meiou Attack. Key orange parts, such as the head's eyes, the back of the hands, and the chest, are rendered with clear plastic. Thanks to its multi-color part separation and included stickers, the kit delivers an impressive appearance even with a straight build.
