BANDAI SPIRITS Hobby Division has unveiled the latest addition to its RG (Real Grade) series from "Evangelion": the "RG Multipurpose Humanoid Decisive Weapon, Artificial Human Evangelion Unit-04 (RG 汎用ヒト型決戦兵器 人造人間 エヴァンゲリオン 4號機)". This impressive kit is priced at 6,600 JPY and is scheduled for release in July 2022.
In the "Neon Genesis Evangelion" anime, EVA Unit-04 was a unit manufactured by NERV's North American branch. However, during an S2 Engine installation test, an accident occurred, opening a connection to the Dirac Sea. This catastrophic event caused both Unit-04 and the Second Branch to be absorbed and vanish into the Dirac Sea. Visually, Unit-04 shares a similar silhouette with Unit-03, but features contrasting silver-white restraints. While mentioned in "Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance", the unit does not make a physical appearance in the film.
The "RG Multipurpose Humanoid Decisive Weapon, Artificial Human Evangelion Unit-04" utilizes the highly articulated, human-like inner frame design characteristic of the RG EVA series. Through intricate color-separated parts, collectors can perfectly recreate its in-series colors simply by assembly.
The kit faithfully reproduces Unit-04's striking silver-white restraints across its entire body. Accessories include eight pairs of interchangeable hands, an Umbilical Cable, two types of Progressive Knives, a Pallet Rifle, and a clear shield that previously appeared in arcade games. Also included are the RG series' signature Realistic Decals, designed to give details a metallic, lifelike texture.
