Japan's official Gunpla flagship store, THE GUNDAM BASE, recently announced a new event exclusive item: the "HG 1/144 Gundam Marchosias [Iron-Blood Coating]" from "Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans," slated for release starting April 2022 at THE GUNDAM BASE.
The ASW-G-35 Gundam Marchosias is a Mobile Suit characterized by its massive wings on its back. It wields a large tachi as its primary weapon, with the scabbard also functioning as a mace. Furthermore, its wings and waist conceal four sub-arms equipped with short blades. This unit is believed to be a phantom Mobile Suit lost during the Calamity War 300 years ago. While Gjallarhorn's database contains records of its Ahab Reactor's unique frequency, completion, and deployment in combat, there's no data on its pilot, leaving its whereabouts largely unknown.
The "HG 1/144 Gundam Marchosias [Iron-Blood Coating]" is based on the regular release kit from 2020. It faithfully recreates the heavily armored weapons, massive wings, and the deployment gimmick for the sub-arms hidden in its waist. The distinctive large tachi weapon is also included. The exterior armor parts, originally molded in light purple, have been replaced with a matte silver-plated finish, while the red and yellow sections are now molded in dark brown, giving the entire model a rich metallic feel.
