Japan's official "Mobile Suit Gundam" Gunpla flagship store, GUNDAM BASE, recently unveiled a new event-exclusive product: the "HG 1/144 Gundam Marchosias [Iron-Blood Coating]" from "Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans". This special kit is slated for release starting April 2022 at GUNDAM BASE locations.
Named after the ancient Venusian term "Marchosias," the Mobile Suit Gundam Marchosias was secretly maintained and repaired for many years by the Demna family, guardians of the side story protagonist Wistario Afam. Hidden deep within the power section of the Venusian colony "Radonitsa," this mobile suit is based on the Gundam Frame and has been extensively modified with modern technology. Its arsenal includes a Lightweight Mace, an offensive/defensive shield with integrated claws and needles, and a 110mm Short Rifle for suppressing enemies. A distinctive feature of the Marchosias is the pair of large thrusters mounted on its rear skirt armor.
The "HG 1/144 Gundam Marchosias [Iron-Blood Coating]" is based on the regular release kit from 2020. The two large thrusters on its rear skirt armor are independently posable, and its weaponry includes the Lightweight Mace, Short Rifle, and a shield that can open left and right to recreate the claw and needle firing mechanism. The exterior armor parts, originally molded in light purple, have been replaced with a matte silver-white plated finish, while the red and yellow sections are now molded in dark brown, giving the kit a rich, heavy metallic texture.
