Following the release of Senku Ishigami, TAMASHII NATIONS' Figuarts ZERO fixed-pose figure brand, part of BANDAI SPIRITS' collectible toy division, has officially unveiled its next entry from "Dr. STONE": the Asagiri Gen PVC Pre-painted Figure! This highly anticipated piece is slated for an August 2022 release.
Asagiri Gen, the self-proclaimed mentalist, initially appeared as a member of the Tsukasa Empire, proclaiming, "No matter who I betray, I'll join the winning side." This gave him the impression of a sinister "Bat-Man." However, after witnessing Senku Ishigami's genius and the latent power of the Kingdom of Science, Gen formed the world's most superficial alliance with Senku, sealed by a single bottle of cola. He eventually reported the false news of "Senku's death" and secretly assisted Senku and his allies multiple times during the subsequent "Tsukasa Empire vs. Kingdom of Science" war. Gen is not only adept at psychological manipulation and persuasive rhetoric but also excels in strategy formulation, voice mimicry, and negotiation.
The Figuarts ZERO Asagiri Gen stands approximately 18 cm tall, meticulously recreating his signature left-face markings, silver-black hair, and purple coat, among other character details. He's posed holding a microphone, while his right hand strikes a dramatically cool, almost theatrical pose. The figure itself boasts excellent sculpting for Gen's facial contours, the intricate folds of his clothing, and the dynamic flow of his coat's hem. The shadow painting further enhances the overall three-dimensional effect. Senku's invented cell phone is also placed behind him, and the base is crafted in a rock-like style, complemented by light blue smoke effects, perfectly capturing the elusive and enigmatic aura of the mentalist!
