Fans of the web novel "The Rising of the Shield Hero" can look forward to a 1/7 scale figure of the heroine, Raphtalia, elegantly dressed in a traditional Japanese "Shiromuku" wedding kimono, slated for a December 2022 release.
"The Rising of the Shield Hero" is a fantasy web novel penned by Japanese author Aneko Yusagi, which gained immense popularity online. It was later adapted into a manga series and officially animated in 2019, with its second season premiering in April 2022. The story follows college student Naofumi Iwatani, who is unexpectedly transported to a parallel world after discovering a mysterious book. There, he becomes the "Shield Hero," armed with an unremovable shield as his only weapon.
Raphtalia, a demi-human, becomes Naofumi Iwatani's first companion. Her village was devastated by the "First Wave," leading to her enslavement. After being rescued by Naofumi, she pledges her loyalty to him. Initially appearing childlike, her physical form matures significantly as her level increases, transforming her into a beautiful young woman. Naofumi himself has declared her one of his most trusted allies. Possessing formidable combat prowess, she serves as the primary attacker, becoming the "best sword" by Naofumi's side.
This F:NEX Raphtalia figure in her Shiromuku version offers an original reimagining of her character. Departing from her usual adventurer attire and sword-wielding pose, she is instead adorned in a stunning traditional Japanese wedding kimono.
