amiami, Japan's largest hobby and toy specialty shopping site operated by Oh-ami Inc., recently announced the latest product from the popular manga "Laid-Back Camp△": the "Shima Rin Foot Bath ver. 1/7 Scale Figure," scheduled for release in March 2023.
The prototype for this product was sculpted by Japanese figure maker Wonderful Works and is released under the amiami brand. The sculpt is based on the same scene from the anime, bringing to life the moment Shima Rin sits by a hot spring pool, reading a book while enjoying a foot bath. Details such as the fluffy texture of her clothing and the relaxed fit of her top are meticulously rendered, and the patterns on the book, jacket, and blanket are faithfully reproduced with printing. The figure also features interchangeable face parts, allowing for two expressions: looking diagonally forward and gazing intently at the book.
As a figure with a foot bath theme, her two bare feet are naturally the centerpiece of the work. Both feet are sculpted in an alternating up-and-down position, with the four toes (excluding the big toe) delicately curled, as if gently tapping and swaying in the water, perfectly conveying Shima Rin's relaxed and carefree mood. The substantial base also recreates a stone-tiled waterway and a wooden platform. Notably, there are no fixed attachment points between the base and the main figure, allowing for free and flexible placement anywhere.
