Japanese model manufacturer Kotobukiya, following the 'Asra Ninja 2/1 Scale Figure', has once again announced the latest Megami Device product, the 'Asra Archer 2/1 Scale Figure', scheduled for release in April 2023.
The 'Asra' series of units released under Megami Device was designed by the renowned Japanese illustrator Nidy-2D-. The initially introduced Ninja and Archer units feature armor designed with red and white color schemes, and incorporate the Japanese-style elements of the ninja and archer professions, combining traditional weapons such as bows, Japanese swords, shurikens, and wakizashis with mechanical structures. The voluptuous and alluring body sculpt significantly boosted the series' sales after its announcement, leading to the subsequent release of various derivative and enhanced versions with different colors and armaments.
The 'Asra Archer 2/1 Scale Figure' has been redesigned as a non-articulated, pre-painted finished model based on the illustration by Nidy-2D-. Compared to the plastic model kit version, its height ratio is doubled and its volume is increased by 8 times, boasting a large size with a total height of approximately 36 cm, while also being endowed with even richer detailed sculpting, making everything from her voluptuous physique to her highly mechanical armaments even more outstanding.
Due to the requirements for articulated joints and peg designs, the plastic model kit version's body lines inevitably deviated somewhat from the original design, appearing a bit stiff. However, the 2/1 scale figure version does not have this issue, faithfully reproducing the voluptuous bust and hip curves based on the original artwork. The mechanical armaments also feature more complete sculpting and structure, as there's no need to reserve space for pegs. Furthermore, multiple parts such as the left leg, both hands, thighs, and hair come with interchangeable parts, allowing her to be posed in an image resembling a dakimakura cover, lying down with some armaments removed, and thoughtfully includes a soft felt base mat to prevent paint damage.
