To commemorate the broadcast of "Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury," 7-ELEVEN Japan announced a collaboration event with the "Mobile Suit Gundam" series, launching a range of original Gundam merchandise starting November 1, 2022. Among these, the highly popular Gunpla model kit series will feature a limited edition "HG 1/144 Gundam Lfrith [Recirculation Color / Neon Pink]," scheduled for release on November 11, 2022.
The Gundam Lfrith, which appeared in the prequel, is a prototype mobile suit developed by Ochs Earth Corporation on Earth. This machine adopts the innovative "GUND-Format technology," which evolved from "GUND," a body function expansion technology used in social welfare medical engineering such as prosthetics, into a mobile suit technology. Such machines are referred to as Gundams (GUND-ARM). Gundam Lfrith is equipped with a next-generation swarm remote-controlled weapon system called GUND-Bits. Using the new mineral Permet as a medium, the pilot links with the AI installed in the mobile suit to control 7 GUND-Bits, each equipped with thrust vector nozzles and beam cannons. These can form a powerful shield against beam attacks, act as all-directional beam attack floating weapons, or link with the backpack and rifle to enhance firepower and mobility.
The "HG 1/144 Gundam Lfrith [Recirculation Color / Neon Pink]" is based on the previously released standard kit. It features excellent part separation and color molding techniques to reproduce its in-anime appearance, along with flexible articulation. It can be equipped with a beam rifle with beam effect parts. The 7 GUND-Bits can combine to form a shield, separate into floating weapons for all-directional beam attacks, or link with the backpack and beam rifle slots to recreate the "BIT ON FORM" stance, which boasts enhanced firepower and mobility.
This product is made from recycled materials, reprocessed from discarded runner frames. The black parts of the mobile suit retain the original color of the recycled material, while striking neon pink molding colors are added as accents. In addition to its somewhat stylish color scheme, it also showcases Bandai's active efforts in environmental protection and carbon reduction in recent years. Accessories include specially designed stickers with the "RE (RECIRCULATION)" logo, representing recycling, which can be applied to various parts of the mobile suit.
