French high-end statue brand Kitsune Statue will launch a nostalgic new product, the "Ryo Saeba" 1/6 scale statue, based on the classic manga "City Hunter"! Limited to 500 units worldwide, the suggested retail price is €524.17, and pre-orders are now open on their official website, with an estimated release in Q1-Q2 2024.
Japanese manga artist Tsukasa Hojo's manga series "City Hunter" (シティーハンター) began serialization in "Weekly Shonen Jump" in 1985. The protagonist, Ryo Saeba, who is sometimes cool, sometimes lecherous and comical, is a hitman based in Shinjuku. He partners with the neutral-looking Kaori Makimura and is nicknamed "City Hunter." He occasionally works as a bodyguard and private detective. To commission him, clients simply write the code "XYZ" on the message board at the east exit of Shinjuku Station (but only beautiful women clients are accepted). The series has been adapted into novels, live-action films, Korean dramas, and more, showcasing its classic status and influence.
The "Kitsune Statue Ryo Saeba" 1/6 scale statue stands approximately 36 cm tall. That man, clad in a purple jacket and red vest, returns once again in his classic appearance! The statue faithfully recreates his handsome face and muscular physique, with incredibly detailed features on his beloved .357 Magnum handgun. The veins on his arms and muscle lines are also realistically sculpted. The base is filled with details of destruction and commotion, such as the propeller and helicopter wheel he shot. Behind him is a billboard featuring a sexy woman, a fan-service element from the manga, perfectly capturing Ryo's cool yet lecherous personality! Additionally, two interchangeable head sculpts, one based on the manga and one on the anime, are included.
