Virtual and Real Combined! "KMC Future Party" Delivers a Brand New Audiovisual Experience with Cutting-Edge Entertainment Technology and Subculture

Kaohsiung Music Center, utilizing a "front store, back factory" concept, collaborated with FREES, Dream Reality, Kafka by the Sea, and Crescent Digicast Inc. to co-produce a 5G concert.

The Kaohsiung Music Center (hereinafter referred to as KMC) presented Taiwan's largest virtual-real co-performance 5G concert, "KMC Future Party," on the 19th at the Wave House! The opening act featured the Jiutian Folk Arts Group and six Vtuber groups, performing "Apocalyptic Rebirth - Light Saber Drumming," with drumming and shouts that were incredibly impactful. Following the performance by the rap duo Grasshopper Kids, the stage transformed into a street style. At this point, Gambler, a Taiwanese Hokkien rapper from the top eight of "The Rappers," appeared and performed "Come Out" from "Dust of Angels! 30th Anniversary Tribute Album" alongside Taiwanese Vtuber KITSUNEKON Xiaokong, who transformed into a hip-hop goddess.

Next, the versatile singer-songwriter and dancer, Gugu Lu Szu-wei, made an energetic appearance. After three great songs, "Gentleman Hero," "Love for Love," and "Sign for My Heart," Vtuber AMOW joined Gugu Lu Szu-wei on stage for a dance battle, instantly igniting the atmosphere!

This "KMC Future Party" challenged the simultaneous real-time motion capture of four individuals, utilizing over 70 VICON Vantage V16 motion capture cameras, a Facial scanning system, and studio-grade audio equipment. Additionally, the high-speed network from the KMC venue transmitted data to the stage, allowing the audience to witness the Light Rail Girls, virtual idols AMOW and Aki, interact as smoothly as real people, even performing the popular internet dance move "Zero Two Shake."

There was also a surprise Easter egg! The band Runaway Bob co-performed "Butter-Fly," the theme song from the 1999 Fuji TV anime "Digimon Adventure," with virtual idol Aki. The adorable Aki then joined the first-love-themed girl group PINK FUN to perform "You Make Me Crazy," filling the venue with a romantic, pink atmosphere through their youthful singing and dancing.

Next-Generation Idols and Popular Vtubers Co-Perform in Taiwan's Largest Virtual-Real Collaboration

Beta Huni, the virtual idol who hosts the "Huni's Friends" program on Yahoo TV, then took the stage, performing "As You Like It" (Japanese: お気に召すまま), a 2017 work by the famous Japanese internet singer Eve. Following her was Almond Milk, a highly popular Taiwanese-Japanese Vtuber, who sang her original all-Japanese song "Nyatatarhythm" (a Japanese onomatopoeia for a cat's pawing sound). Almond Milk's cute singing style and dance moves transcended language barriers, raising the atmosphere once again.

The grand finale featured Ozone, a popular group from the reality talent show "Atom Boyz," with members Chou Tsu-an, Chou Tzu-hsiang, Huang Wen-ting, Lin Chia-chen, Lin Huan-chun, and Li Che-yen. They first performed their new song "O.A.O," written for their fans, using the acronym for "One And Only" to express the fans' significance to the Ozone members. After another song, "Bad Bad Love," the Light Rail Girls, Kaohsiung's most iconic virtual idols, appeared on stage and had a humorous interaction with Ozone. This led to the climax of the "KMC Future Party," with Ozone and the virtual idols performing a grand chorus of "Flying Towards a Far-Off Planet"! Both the live singers and virtual idols were perfectly synchronized in their vocals and dance moves, and the audience joined in for a massive sing-along. The "KMC Future Party" truly lived up to its name, creating a futuristic party where the virtual and real seamlessly merged, both on and off stage.

Kaohsiung City is promoting 5G (Fifth Generation Mobile Communication) and AIoT (Artificial Intelligence of Things) application services, with the Wave House serving as the audio-visual demonstration venue for this project. To diversify the application of 5G AIoT in popular music performances, KMC seized the trend of ACG virtual idols. Utilizing a "front store, back factory" concept, it invited strong resident partners within the park to jointly create Taiwan's largest virtual-real co-performance, the "KMC Future Party." This collaboration included "Kafka by the Sea" for music planning, "Crescent Digicast Inc." for motion capture studio and technology, "Dream Reality" for virtual character production, and "FREES" for concert program production and stage design.
