Furyu, a company that has released numerous character figures, will launch a new figure of 'Tobio Kageyama', one of the protagonists from the popular sports series 'Haikyuu!!', under its new model brand 'TENITOL', scheduled for September 2023!
'Haikyuu!!' (ハイキュー!!) is a shonen sports manga created by Japanese manga artist Haruichi Furudate, centered around volleyball. It was serialized from 2012 to 2020, totaling 405 chapters. The anime has currently aired four seasons. In August 2022, news of a second theatrical film, 'Final', was announced, with its release date yet to be determined.
Tobio Kageyama, one of the protagonists, already possessed exceptional volleyball skills in junior high, earning him the title of a genius. However, his immense talent made him isolated, and his self-centeredness and poor communication skills, despite his kind heart, gave him an unapproachable, prickly demeanor. In his third year of junior high, he was ostracized by his teammates, who mockingly called him the 'King of the Court'. After arriving at Karasuno High and meeting Hinata, he discovered the infinite possibilities of their partnership and gradually began to develop a sense of teamwork, shedding his self-centered ways. His precise tosses allow Hinata and other spikers to confidently and boldly execute their attacks. His other skills, such as receiving, blocking, and spiking, are also very powerful, making him an all-around player who believes that setters are cooler than spikers.
This TENITOL Tobio Kageyama figure stands approximately 21 cm tall, including the base. Unlike his usual volleyball uniform, this Kageyama is depicted in his everyday student attire, carrying a rooster-brand backpack, similar to those seen in real life, and walking home from school while drinking a beverage. His expression is cool and carries a hint of disdain. When displayed alongside the previously released Shoyo Hinata figure from the same brand, it further emphasizes their 'frenemies' relationship.
