Japanese toy brand WAVE, which has released numerous models, is scheduled to launch a 1/72 scale assembly model of the protagonist robot from the 80s Japanese robot anime 'Armored Trooper Gallian' (機甲界ガリアン), the 'Iron Giant Gallian', in late July 2023!
The robot anime 'Armored Trooper Gallian' (機甲界ガリアン) was produced by Sunrise and began airing in 1984. It was originally planned for fifty episodes over one year, but due to poor viewership and merchandise sales, it was ultimately cut short after only twenty-five episodes. In 1986, three OVA works were released, with 'Iron Emblem' featuring an entirely new story.

This work is a robot anime that combines medieval knight and SF sci-fi elements. The story follows the protagonist, Jordi (ジョルディ・ボーダー, nicknamed 'JOJO'), the prince of the Border (ボーダー) Kingdom. After his kingdom was destroyed by the Marder (マーダル) Kingdom, he and his retainers escaped under aliases and hid for over a decade. In Shiratani, he met the heroine Churulu (チュルル), who guided him to the legendary armored trooper 'Iron Giant' Gallian, and from then on, he resolved to seek revenge against the Marder Kingdom.
This Iron Giant Gallian, jointly developed by WAVE and ACADEMY, stands approximately 17 cm tall. It features pre-colored parts for assembly, requiring no adhesive or other tools. The cockpit can be opened to recreate the pilot's presence inside. In addition to its robot form, the Iron Giant can also transform into a bird form. Accessories include extra hand parts, as well as a long sword and a whip-form Gallian Sword.
