Designed by Polish LEGO fan Jan Woźnica, and previously submitted to the LEGO IDEAS platform where it successfully passed review, LEGO officially announced yesterday (12th) the modified and finalized product, "21340 Tales of the Space Age"! It is scheduled for release on May 8, 2023.
In Jan Woźnica's original design, he chose to create each model in the style of a sci-fi poster, showcasing a strong aesthetic reminiscent of classic 80s posters and books. The commercialized version similarly retains Jan Woźnica's design characteristics and captivating minimalist beauty. Comprising a total of 688 pieces, it includes "Observatory for Comets & Meteors," "Moon Base & Lunar Eclipse," "Soaring Space Shuttle," and a brand-new official addition, "Black Hole," featuring a black and green color scheme! Each model stands 14 cm tall and 9 cm wide, and can be displayed independently or combined. Of course, the original wall-mounting mechanism has also been fully preserved by the official release.
▼ Displaying them like this is incredibly stylish!
It's worth noting that the star elements in the Space Shuttle model can be freely rearranged to recreate different constellations such as Ursa Major, Ursa Minor, Cepheus, Cassiopeia, and more. Additionally, the editor particularly likes the clever use of white wand pieces to represent shooting stars! Overall, this is truly a sophisticated LEGO display model for adults, and it's highly anticipated.
