Today, Bandai Co., Ltd.'s Gashapon toy brand officially announced the second product in the new 'CAPSULE ACTION' Gashapon series, themed after "Mobile Suit Gundam," following the first release, RX-78-2 Gundam. The "MS-06 Zaku II" is scheduled for release in August 2023.
'CAPSULE ACTION' is a new series of Gashapon toys that transforms Mobile Suit Gundam machines into approximately 9 cm tall articulated figures. The overall design features more layered, high-density details compared to the original settings, with paintwork reproducing the various colors and body markings for a more refined texture. The neck, waist, and limbs all feature a certain level of articulated joint design, allowing for dynamic posing with the included weaponry.
The second release, 'MS-06 Zaku II,' will simultaneously offer two versions: the mass-production military green armor and a special fully clear armor. Based on the original design's silhouette, features such as the left shoulder spike, and the power pipes on the head, waist, and legs are reproduced. Several new armor lines and layers have been added to the sleek curved armor, enhancing the richness of detail. The neck, waist, and limbs all have articulated joints, allowing for combat poses with its main weapon, the "Zaku Machine Gun." However, the power pipes connecting the thighs and calves appear to be a single molded part, and the official images do not show a large degree of knee bend, which may somewhat interfere with the range of motion.
