Japanese toy company EVOLUTION TOY's HERO ACTION FIGURE series (HAF for short) is scheduled to release an articulated toy of the robot "Denjin Zaborgar" from the tokusatsu film 《Battle Robot Zaborgar》 (電人ザボーガー) in July 2023!
《Battle Robot Zaborgar》 (電人ザボーガー, ZABORGER) is a tokusatsu work produced by P Production, which began airing on Fuji TV in 1974, totaling 52 episodes. The story describes how the protagonist, Yutaka Daimon, upon returning home after completing secret police training, was targeted and killed by the criminal organization Sigma (Σ) Group because they coveted the new energy source developed by his late father, Dr. Daimon. However, Yutaka Daimon's body contained an electrode circuit developed by his father, allowing him to revive. This electrode circuit could emit "Fury Current" (怒りの電流), which in turn activated Denjin Zaborgar, secretly developed by Dr. Daimon. The protagonist and Denjin then together initiated a battle against the Sigma Group, aiming to defeat its leader, Dr. Akunomiya.
Denjin Zaborgar usually appears in its motorcycle form, 「マシーン・ザボーガー」, driven and operated by Yutaka Daimon, and can transform into its humanoid state. It typically coordinates combat through Yutaka Daimon's microphone commands. It is equipped with many mysterious weapons, such as chain-fists that can be launched, ear-shaped blades on both sides of its head that can transform into blade boomerangs, a machine gun called "Rapid Destruction Gun" hidden inside its mouth, and small reconnaissance vehicles, helicopters, or planes concealed in its head, feet, and back, respectively.
This HAF series Denjin Zaborgar, released by EVOLUTION TOY, faithfully recreates its appearance from the original work. Standing approximately 17 cm tall, its new articulated joints allow the humanoid Denjin to strike various poses. Furthermore, it can transform into its motorcycle state using interchangeable parts. All weapons that appeared in the original work, including the chain-fists and blade boomerangs, are also included, and even the small reconnaissance aircraft is fully reproduced.
