BANDAI SPIRITS' Collectors Division, TAMASHII NATIONS, has announced today the commercialization of the 'METAL ROBOT SPIRITS (Ka signature) Z Gundam Unit 3' from the 'METAL ROBOT SPIRITS' series, which combines metallic paint finishes and an alloy frame. It is scheduled for release in October 2023.
Appearing in visual works such as 'Gundam New Experience -0087- GREEN DIVERS,' the MSZ-006-3 Z Gundam Unit 3 is set as a Z Gundam variant commissioned by the Anti-Earth Union Group (AEUG) allied organization "Karaba" from Anaheim Electronics in 'Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam.' Its overall appearance, specifications, and performance are essentially identical to Unit 1, piloted by Kamille Bidan. This unit was piloted by a Karaba soldier codenamed "White Unicorn," with the entire machine painted in white and purple, and an "A" mark similar to the RX-93 ν Gundam painted on its left shoulder. Furthermore, the pilot's voice actor in the visuals is Mr. Toru Furuya, hinting that this machine is the personal unit of the original Gundam protagonist, Amuro Ray, who had escaped Federation confinement and joined Karaba at the time.
Supervised by renowned mechanical designer KATOKI HAJIME, the 'METAL ROBOT SPIRITS (Ka signature) Z Gundam Unit 3' is a modified version of the previously released standard edition. It utilizes high-precision color painting and printing to reproduce the distinctive white and purple parts and the full-body markings, even perfectly recreating the lines that pass through right-angle protrusions and armor seams. The characteristic large weapon, the "Hyper Mega Launcher," also features original colors in this version, presenting the same purple and white color scheme as the main unit.
The design of the full-body movable frame is also identical to the Z Gundam. The alloy movable frame not only boasts high durability and a sense of weight but also offers flexible articulation and a transformation mechanism. It can reproduce the complex transformation mechanism of the Z Gundam series with almost no need for part replacement, faithfully restoring the silhouette from the design sketches and ensuring remarkable stability. Other armaments include a beam rifle, beam saber hilts, beam saber effect parts, and more, allowing for the recreation of dynamic battle scenes.
