Korean toy brand BLITZWAY, known for releasing numerous statues and articulated robot toys, is set to launch a 1/4 scale statue of Beyond the Grave, the protagonist from the video game GUNGRAVE, in the third quarter of 2023!
GUNGRAVE (also translated as "銃墓" or "槍墓") was originally a third-person action-shooter game released on the PlayStation 2 console in 2002. The character design and original concept for the game were handled by renowned manga artist Yasuhiro Nightow (known for Trigun), while the mechanical designs were created by manga artist Kōsuke Fujishima (known for Oh My Goddess!). Famous illustrator Hidenori Matsubara also participated in the production.
This title is an incredibly intense action-shooter game with a strong bullet-hell feel. Players control the protagonist, Beyond the Grave, a silent, tall man wielding dual pistols named "Cerberus" and carrying a massive weapon called "Coffin" on his back. His real name is Brandon Heat. Players must guide him, using his dual guns to shoot approaching enemies or unleashing a barrage of attacks on close-range foes with the Coffin, all while navigating through a hail of enemy gunfire. The story primarily depicts the protagonist's saga of grievances and affections after joining the "Millennion" syndicate, involving his boss "Big Daddy" and his friend "Harry." The GUNGRAVE series has released a total of four games and an anime adaptation in 2003.

This GUNGRAVE statue, produced by BLITZWAY under license from game company "RED Entertainment," is crafted in a 1/4 scale, standing at an impressive 72 cm tall. It faithfully recreates Beyond the Grave's appearance from the anime and game, featuring his leather attire and clothing adorned with metal plates and rivets. He wields his two beloved pistols, "Cerberus," with chains binding his arms, connected to the large "Coffin" weapon on his back. Every detail on his body has been meticulously reproduced, including the full belt of bullets, the glasses hidden beneath his hat, and the decorative patterns on his thigh holsters. The specially designed skull-patterned base features embedded LED components that emit a red glow when a button is pressed. Overall, it is an incredibly imposing and impressive product.
