Bandai is not only focusing on Digimon but also the Yu-Gi-Oh! series. Blue-Eyes White Dragon is likely just the beginning, with many other forms to be derived later. The next announced release is Exodia the Forbidden One.
Since the original kit has excellent color separation, I didn't do much painting this time and opted for the quickest method of straight assembly. After assembly, I used pearl powder mixed with clear gloss topcoat to give the entire model a pearl finish.
Many of the gate marks are hidden by the kit's design; only a few are exposed, and they are not very noticeable unless you look closely. The articulation is average, but once assembled and placed on a stand, combined with the two large wings on its back, the overall presence is very imposing.
The original kit leaves a lot of room for customization, for example, converting it into a three-headed version is also feasible. However, to make it three-headed, I would need to buy two more kits, but only the neck, head, and spherical joint parts would be usable, wasting the rest of the parts, so I gave up on the idea of a three-headed version.
The entire assembly is not difficult and can generally be completed in about half a day. Finally, spraying it with clear gloss topcoat + pearl powder completes this pearl-finished Blue-Eyes White Dragon.
Below is a very simple production process to share with everyone. Since Xuite Blog is about to close, images will no longer be uploaded for external linking there. Some early works and tutorials on the site are also gradually being migrated to new external linking spaces. If you see broken images in early works or tutorials, it's normal; they will return to normal once the image external linking is complete.

▼The original kit's color separation is actually excellent, allowing for a high degree of completion even with straight assembly.
▼This build adopted a straight assembly method. After completion, pearl powder was used with GAIA's clear gloss topcoat to spray the surface for a pearl finish.
▼Not much pearl powder is needed; one spoonful is enough. I personally use very little thinner for pearl powder, usually just scooping a spoonful directly into thinned clear paint for spraying.
▼The mouth can open and close vertically. The tongue part is a separate kit and color-separated, allowing for independent movement.
▼After combining with the neck, the dragon head is largely formed.
▼The body is assembled from multiple parts. The connection to the legs uses spherical joints.
▼The tail also has a multi-joint structure, with a soft wire embedded inside to allow for posing.
▼The tail and body are also connected using spherical joints.

▼Legs completed
▼The four toes on the foot are fixed and cannot move.
▼Combined with the legs.
▼The arm's articulation is quite high; the shoulder is assembled from independent parts, and the fingers are not articulated.
▼Finally, the most imposing part is probably this pair of wings. The wing membrane uses a matte finish. The texture this time is excellent, no longer feeling like plastic but rather a thin membrane.

That concludes this super simple Blue-Eyes White Dragon assembly sharing. Next, I'll share some studio shots.
The next build will probably be a robot. Looking forward to the next release, Exodia the Forbidden One!
