As MARVEL's blockbuster "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3" hits the big screen, Hong Kong toy manufacturer Hot Toys also announced yesterday (3rd) their first 1/6th scale collectible figure product from the film, "Groot"! Both the regular version and the Deluxe Version, which comes with a plethora of guns, will be released simultaneously. This article will focus on the "Deluxe Version," with an estimated shipping date between Q2 and Q3 2024.
The following accessory content may contain spoilers for "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3." Proceed with caution!!
This figure stands approximately 32.5 cm tall and features 20 points of articulation. Based on the new movie's setting, Groot has grown once again, becoming stronger and more formidable. In addition to utilizing a new body sculpt, the intricate tree bark textures, meticulously rendered with detailed sculpting and painting techniques, are incredibly lifelike. The small saplings visible across his body and the fuzzy green moss further symbolize Groot's vibrant life force! The head sculpt is also excellent, vividly capturing his essence, and includes three interchangeable face plates: a grinning expression, a neutral expression, and an angry expression, greatly enhancing playability and display options.
In addition to all the contents of the regular version, this Deluxe Version also includes a "torso part" that appeared in the trailer, featuring numerous branch-like arms extending from his body. The six arms can be bent using internal wires, and when combined with the six additional pistols and attached to the head, arms, and legs, it perfectly recreates his fierce combat appearance from the film!
▼ A 1/6th scale "Quill" is surely not far off!
▼ In addition to the torso part with six extending branches, the Deluxe Version also includes a spider-like tree trunk body part, which becomes more bizarre the more you look at it.
