This article brings you the latest information on the "Darth Sidious" 1/6th scale collectible figure, announced today (the 4th) by Hong Kong toy manufacturer Hot Toys, celebrating the 20th anniversary of the "Star Wars: The Clone Wars" animated series!
Cunning, resourceful, deeply calculating, and supremely powerful – the charismatic villain "Darth Sidious," who perfectly fits all these descriptions, once again emerges from the dark side! This figure stands approximately 29.5 cm tall with 30 points of articulation, recreating his fearsome appearance and the reddish-brown robe with a dark blue cape, meticulously crafted based on the animated series' design. It not only captures his imposing and mysterious silhouette, but with the hood removed, it sculpts the subtly smiling, sinister expression seen when actor Ian McDiarmid portrayed Sidious. In addition to detailing the aged skin texture and markings, the movable eyes allow for a highly realistic villainous presence.
The accessories are also impressive, including a pair of newly sculpted lightsaber hilts with light-up function, a lightsaber hilt for attachment, two sets of red blades that can be equipped onto the hilts (regular and motion-effected), multiple interchangeable hands including those for Force lightning, and a mechanical-style display base. This Sidious figure not only allows followers of the dark side to admire the Emperor's grandeur but also enables recreation of Sidious's cool dual-wielding stance against Darth Maul from the animated series!
