Japanese figure manufacturer Good Smile Company announced the latest product based on the anime Macross Frontier, the "Sheryl Nome Anniversary Stage Ver. 1/7 Scale Figure", scheduled for release in May 2024.
Sheryl Nome, one of the two divas from Macross Frontier, is a hugely popular idol singer from Macross Galaxy, known as the "Galactic Fairy." She possesses mature beauty, a confident and strong personality, and her singing, performed by popular singer May'n, is exceptionally powerful and penetrating. Renowned composer Yoko Kanno was invited to custom-compose several songs for her, including "Diamond crevasse" and the duet "Lion" with Ranka Lee (Megumi Nakajima), all of which are captivating masterpieces.
The "Sheryl Nome Anniversary Stage Ver. 1/7 Scale Figure" brings to life the 10th-anniversary illustration for Macross Frontier, drawn by the anime's character designer, Risa Ebata. It captures Sheryl's sexy and cool charm in a dynamic pose, leaping with both feet and her long hair flowing. The most striking costume design features meticulously sculpted details such as her hair clip, microphone, buckles, and heels. Transparent parts are used to create the delicate texture of the feathers and ribbons at her waist, and the sheer quality of the skirt at the back.
The entire figure, including her hair, ribbons, and transparent parts, is painted with multi-layered gradient colors, faithfully reproducing the brilliant hues and light-and-shadow nuances of the original illustration. The base features Sheryl's nameplate crafted in a retro American signboard style, filled with fluorescent pink and adorned with individual orange-yellow light bulb parts, creating a glowing effect.
Furthermore, the "Ranka Lee Anniversary Stage Ver. 1/7 Scale Figure," designed to pair with Sheryl, is also currently under development. In the future, both products can be displayed together to recreate the complete 10th-anniversary illustration!
