GOOD SMILE COMPANY's affordable pre-painted figure series, "POP UP PARADE," is releasing a new product based on the dark popular manga "Takopi's Original Sin": the "POP UP PARADE Shizuka Kuze & Takopi" PVC figure! Priced at 4,800 JPY, it is scheduled for release in October 2023!
The manga "Takopi's Original Sin," created by new-generation Japanese manga artist Taizan5, has been described by Japanese critics as a "nightmare version of Doraemon." "Takopi," hailing from the Happy Planet, gets its name from its appearance, which resembles a Q-version octopus. It is an alien creature that came to Earth to spread happiness throughout the universe. After arriving on Earth, it encounters Shizuka Kuze, an elementary school student who is being bullied. Takopi hopes to solve Shizuka's troubles and bring back her smile using "happy tools"! However, because "goodness doesn't understand evil," Takopi, unable to comprehend human thoughts and real-life situations, only makes things worse with each tool it uses...
The "POP UP PARADE Shizuka Kuze & Takopi" PVC figure stands approximately 14 cm tall. It faithfully recreates Shizuka's large head and slender body proportions as seen in the manga. She is depicted wearing simple clothes and carrying a worn-out elementary school backpack. Her white canvas shoes also feature specially applied weathering and dirt paintwork. Although Shizuka has a faint smile on her face, she still exudes a hint of gloom. In addition to Takopi standing on Shizuka's shoulder, three additional Takopi figures with different expressions are included, which can be displayed separately~
