Japanese toy brand GOOD SMILE COMPANY's affordable pre-painted PVC figure series "POP UP PARADE" is scheduled to release an L-size version of the protagonist from the renowned anime and manga series Goblin Slayer, Goblin Slayer himself, in January 2024, priced at 8,800 JPY.
Goblin Slayer (ゴブリンスレイヤー) was originally a light novel series created and published by author "Kumo Kagyu" in 2014. It received widespread acclaim upon its release, followed by a manga adaptation in 2016, an anime adaptation in 2018, and a movie in 2019. A second season of the anime is slated for 2023, and the series even has related mobile games.
The protagonist, Goblin Slayer, is a mysterious Silver-ranked adventurer who only accepts quests related to slaying goblins. With a tragic past, he prefers to act alone. On one occasion, he rescued a Priestess whose party had been annihilated by goblins, and the two later became companions. Subsequently, he met other allies such as High Elf Archer, Dwarf Shaman, and Lizard Priest. Together, they resolved numerous crises caused by goblin attacks. His obsession with goblins is extraordinary; outwardly, he shows little emotion and is taciturn, but inwardly, he is very kind to people. He is a highly trusted adventurer.
This L-SIZE version of the POP UP PARADE Goblin Slayer stands approximately 24 cm tall. Its pose differs from the previously released standard version, making it an entirely new product. Goblin Slayer is equipped with a shield on his left hand and a sword in his right, striking a pose ready for battle. The battle-worn appearance of his armor is meticulously recreated, reflecting Goblin Slayer's pragmatic nature as depicted in the original work. The ornament atop his helmet is sculpted to appear flowing, adding to the dynamic feel.
