BANDAI CANDY, the confectionery toy division of Japan's Bandai Co., Ltd., today announced the latest product from its popular assembly model confectionery toy series 'SHOKUGAN MODELING PROJECT': 'Voltes V' from 'Super Electromagnetic Machine Voltes V', scheduled for release in December 2023.
'Super Electromagnetic Machine Voltes V' is one of the robot romance trilogy directed by animation director Tadao Nagahama. In the story, to prevent the Boazanian Empire from invading Earth, Dr. Kentaro Gō assembled a team to develop the super robot "Voltes V" to combat the giant battle machines "Beast Fighters" dispatched by the Empire. He also gathered five justice-filled youths to join the defense force for a year of rigorous training, allowing them to pilot the Voltes Cruiser, Voltes Bomber, Voltes Panzer, Voltes Frigate, and Voltes Lander respectively. When the five machines form a V-formation and shout "LET’S VOLT IN!", they can combine into the mighty force "Voltes V" to save Earth.
The "SMP Super Electromagnetic Machine Voltes V" will be sold as a complete set, not individually boxed. Through multi-color molded parts and stickers, the five machines – Voltes Cruiser, Voltes Bomber, Voltes Panzer, Voltes Frigate, and Voltes Lander – can be assembled. Each machine can be displayed and played with individually, and also features a transformation and combination mechanism to form "Voltes V".
After combination, the head and all limb joints feature a flexible range of motion, allowing it to recreate the pose of performing its special move "Tenkūken V-Slash" with its weapon "Tenkūken". It can even recreate the ground-walking "Heavy Tank Mode" by swapping parts!
