Japanese figure manufacturer GOOD SMILE COMPANY's affordable pre-painted figure series"POP UP PARADE" announced its latest product from《Evangelion: New Theatrical Edition》, "Rei Ayanami Long Hair Ver. XL size," slated for release in January 2024.
The PVC pre-painted figure series"POP UP PARADE" boasts several features, including an accessible uniform price of 4,800 JPY, quick release after announcement, and a display-friendly size of 17-18 cm. The character sculpts are relatively basic and refined, simply showcasing the character's design. The overall color application is also of a certain standard, but no special accessories or effect parts are included, positioning it between prize figures and standard PVC scale figures. The "XL size" introduced in recent years further magnifies the standard version's sculpt to a 40 cm scale, allowing for a powerful display of each character's charm.
"POP UP PARADE Rei Ayanami Long Hair Ver. XL size" utilizes the same sculpt as the standard version released in August 2022, bringing to life the long-haired appearance of Rei Ayanami from《Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time》, who, after losing her physical body and assimilating with the core of Unit-01, continues to protect Unit-01 within the cockpit. It faithfully reproduces the color blocks and high-gloss surface of the plugsuit, while the characteristic long hair is crafted with delicate hair flow lines and wavy, dynamic curled strands, allowing for appreciation of this stunning sculpt in a powerful 40 cm tall size.
