Japan's GOOD SMILE COMPANY's popular "Nendoroid" series, with over a thousand different products, has released numerous items based on "Evangelion: New Theatrical Edition," and now, "Nendoroid Gendo Ikari" finally makes his appearance! The suggested retail price is 7,200 JPY, with an estimated release in November 2024.
Gendo Ikari, who serves as the commander of the special agency NERV, is the father of protagonist Shinji Ikari and the overall head of the entire EVA development project. His personality is cold and ruthless, even disregarding humanity and emotions to achieve his goals. His words and actions are highly mysterious, and he is deeply involved in the top-secret "Human Instrumentality Project" and the establishment of NERV. Ostensibly, he acts under the directives of SEELE and the Human Instrumentality Committee, but secretly, he has his own plans.
The "Nendoroid Gendo Ikari" articulated figure stands approximately 10 cm tall. Based on his appearance in "Evangelion: New Theatrical Edition," it is meticulously manufactured at Good Smile Company's "Rakuzuki Factory" in Kurayoshi City, Tottori Prefecture. It exquisitely captures details such as his sunglasses and goggles, and the costume's paintwork is also finely rendered. It comes with three interchangeable face plates: his signature "serious face," an open-mouthed "reprimanding face," and a "non-human face" after acquiring god-killing power. Accessories include a "table" and "chair" for recreating his classic pose, along with hand parts like hands in pockets and clasped hands, allowing for enjoyment in various situations!
Pre-orders placed through the "GOODSMILE Online Shop" will receive a "NERV Logo Special Round Base" as a bonus!
