Produced by Japan's PLEX company and distributed by X-PLUS company, the popular soft vinyl figure series "DefoReal", which incorporates exquisite realistic details into a cute deformed (Q-version) proportion, recently announced the latest product "Legion Damaged Ver." from "Gamera 2: Attack of Legion", scheduled for release in April 2024.
Appearing in the 1996 film "Gamera 2: Attack of Legion" as Gamera's formidable foe, Legion is a "silicon-based mechanical lifeform" that descended to Earth with a meteorite. Its appearance resembles terrestrial arthropods, and its carapace can reflect electromagnetic waves. Its joints utilize high-pressure oxygen for movement, and it possesses powerful reproductive capabilities. Normal individuals are about 1-2 meters tall, while the Queen Mother can reach a total length of 160 meters. Its head features 10 sharp interference wave claws that can emit various electromagnetic waves, nullifying Gamera's fireballs. It can also spread the large horns on either side of its mouth to converge microwaves and unleash a powerful beam.
The "DEFOREAL Legion Damaged Ver." utilizes numerous new sculpts to recreate its battle-damaged state after fierce combat with Gamera and the Self-Defense Forces. Several interference wave claws and the pair of large horns on its head are broken. Its eyes and exposed core on the head, made with clear parts, have changed from their original blue paintwork to an angry red glow, poised to unleash its "Red Hot Whip" just as depicted in the film. Despite its SD (Super Deformed) proportion, its approximately 19 cm tall body features highly realistic color application and detailed sculpting, faithfully reproducing the formidable enemy's powerful presence from the movie.
