ARC-39 Mithril Eagle Legion Mountain Assault Trooper
Beyond the Archecore Knights, to meet more diverse tactical demands, the Castan Republic needed to establish Archecore armor for regular soldiers, allowing them to undertake special combat missions that the Knights were unwilling to stoop to. This led to the development of Archecore Powered Assault Armor specifically for soldiers. This assault armor simplifies overall protection, prioritizing frontal defense, increasing sprint capabilities and weapon mounting options. Y-energy cell reloading is also made easier. Abandoning the close-combat weapons favored by the Knights, and by adopting firearms, it is better adapted to modern tactics. Standard equipment includes the SP40 Soul-Pressure Submachine Gun and Throwing Hammer-style Soul-Pressure Grenades, enabling regular soldiers to possess high destructive power. Within the Mithril Eagle Knights, this equipment was not compatible with traditional formations, so it was deployed in conjunction with the Military Raptor Sloth, forming "Mountain Assault Trooper" units. Used for breakthroughs in difficult terrain, they became a unique tactical unit within the Knights. All the dirty work, arduous tasks, and missions that the noble Knights were unwilling to undertake are proactively handled by this team. Consequently, a combat unit better adapted to the modern battlefield has been established, serving as a foundational model for future Castan military reforms. Unconstrained by Knight training and frontal pitched battles, the modern Castan tactical philosophy, utilizing rapid-fire firepower and mobile penetration, has emerged thanks to the combat achievements of the Mountain Assault Troopers.
