Kotobukiya (KOTOBUKIYA) of Japan, known for its extremely diverse line of model kit customization parts 'M.S.G', recently announced the upcoming release of its latest products, 'Heavy Weapon Unit 48 Beam Mega Slash Edge 2' and 'Heavy Weapon Unit 49 Beam Mega Slash Edge 2 White Ver.', scheduled for May 2024.
This second version of the 'Beam Mega Slash Edge' continues the style of the first edition released as part of the 5th series, but has been redesigned with a lighter and more compact sword body to be compatible with 15-16 cm humanoid model kits such as 'Frame Arms Girl', 'Megami Device', and 'Arshes'. The playability of the kit has also been enhanced. The 'Heavy Weapon Unit 48 Beam Mega Slash Edge 2' and 'Heavy Weapon Unit 49 Beam Mega Slash Edge 2 White Ver.' versions only differ in color. The black version is molded in dark gray, ice silver, and clear green, while the white version features white, gold, and clear blue.
The 'Beam Mega Slash Edge 2' features a lightweight design that can be held with one hand and comes with multiple grip options for various forms. In addition to its original greatsword form, the sword body can transform into 'Bow' and 'Blast Gun' modes via its transformation mechanism. It also includes effect parts that allow it to transform into a great shield form with an energy shield deployed. All parts utilize the same 3mm connection standard, allowing for free customization of its appearance.
