Previously revealed online and sparking enthusiastic discussion, the "43242 Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs' Cottage" (tentative translation, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs' Cottage), considered one of the key Disney-themed products from Danish toy company LEGO for the first half of 2024, was finally announced today (15th)! It is scheduled for official release on March 4, 2024, with a suggested retail price of US$219.99.
This set contains a total of 2228 pieces. Once assembled, it stands approximately 20 cm tall and measures 35 cm long. The contents include a beautifully designed country cottage, a well, a glass coffin made of transparent elements, and a rich lineup of minifigures encompassing Snow White, Prince Florian, the Seven Dwarfs, and the Evil Queen disguised as an old hag. Small animals are also an indispensable element in the "Snow White" film, and this set will feature a total of six different animal models to complement the scene!
To recreate the thatched roof of the cottage as depicted in the animation, this set utilizes a large number of pieces originally intended as claws or beaks. Their unique curvature, combined with other curved elements, outlines the substantial texture of the thatch. Great effort has also been put into the design of the main door and windows, resulting in an undeniably exquisite exterior. Turning to the back reveals the interior, which includes a bedroom, dining room, kitchen, and more. Although each room is small, they exude a warm, everyday atmosphere, with the dining chairs featuring two heart-shaped pieces as backrests being particularly adorable! Another major highlight of this set is undoubtedly the incredibly beautiful glass coffin. While placing Snow White inside to recreate the movie scene might be a bit melancholic, it is truly stunning.
