Japanese toy company Good Smile Company's popular and best-selling "Nendoroid" (ねんどろいど) series is scheduled to release "Chilchuck" (チルチャック), one of the companions who journeys with protagonist Laios in the popular anime and manga series "Delicious in Dungeon" (ダンジョン飯), in September 2024, priced at 6,900 JPY.
The manga "Delicious in Dungeon," created by Japanese manga artist Ryoko Kui, was originally serialized in the manga magazine "Harta" starting in 2014 and concluded entirely on September 15, 2023, with a total of 97 chapters. Its anime adaptation was announced in August 2022 and began airing in January 2024. This work is Ryoko Kui's first full-length series. The story primarily follows protagonist Laios, an adventurer who, in order to rescue his sister Farin, ventures into the dungeon with his companions Chilchuck, Marcille, and Senshi, aiming to defeat the Red Dragon deep within. Along the way, they frequently face food shortages, overcoming hunger and other crises by cooking various monsters, thereby gradually uncovering the secrets of the monsters and the dungeon.
In the original work, Chilchuck is a male Halfling, skilled in disarming traps and lock-picking. Although he appears to be a small boy, he is actually an adult male who is married and has a family. He is currently separated from his wife. He often states that he has little combat ability. Normally calm but somewhat sharp-tongued and critical, he becomes extremely cautious and nervous when faced with a critical situation requiring trap disarming. He has a phobia of Mimics. Regarding Laios's encouragement for everyone to eat monsters, he is generally open-minded, as long as it's safe.
This Nendoroid release of Chilchuck stands approximately 10 cm tall, faithfully recreating his appearance from the anime. It includes three interchangeable face plates: standard, angry, and surprised. As for accessories, it comes with Chilchuck's lock-picking tools, a rice bowl for eating, and a treasure chest along with its contents. As a bonus for pre-ordering online via the official website, customers will receive a special accessory of him holding fried food.
