"Inspection?....You, in such hot weather, are actually so enthusiastic....Could it be that you have other intentions?"
The gentlemanly toy manufacturer Daiki Kogyo (ダイキ工業), known for producing adult-oriented bishoujo figures, following the release of "Littorio: Radiance of Calabria" based on the popular mobile game "Azur Lane," has recently officially announced its latest product: the "Tosa: Naruko Konatsu" 1/7 scale pre-painted PVC figure! It is scheduled for release in September 2024, with a suggested retail price of 28,000 JPY.
In the setting of "Azur Lane," "Tosa" is an SSR-class battleship belonging to the Sakura Empire faction. Her prototype is the Tosa, the second ship of the Kaga-class battleships of the former Imperial Japanese Navy. She is also the younger sister of "Kaga," one of the popular characters in the Sakura Empire. Her default in-game illustration depicts her as a sharp-eyed, unapproachable, grey-haired, large-breasted bishoujo. Her appearance features include a katana on her rigging, armor at her waist, a blue fox mask worn on her head, and more. The swimsuit-themed "Naruko Konatsu" design, however, allows Tosa to display a beach everyday look that contrasts with her usual sharp aura.
This figure stands approximately 19 cm tall, faithfully recreating Tosa's black and white swimsuit from her Naruko Konatsu design, her extensively exposed white skin, and the fluffy fox tail almost unseen in her default illustration. Details such as her left hand as if just removing sunglasses, her pupils, the fox mask worn in a different orientation, the translucent purple sheer fabric, and the accessories worn in various places are meticulously sculpted. Not only are deeper textural details shaped in the tail, but the three-dimensional feel of her chest armor even surpasses the original artwork! Truly worthy of Daiki Kogyo. However, I personally feel that the overall color layering is slightly lacking; compared to the original artwork, it misses some of the grey and colorless transparency, mostly rendered with pinkish-purple in this product.
▼ For display options, you can pair it with a round base featuring a beach pattern, or display Tosa independently on the beach chair.
▼ The tail that feels soft and fluffy.
