BANDAI SPIRITS' Collectors Division, TAMASHII NATIONS, is set to release a new S.H.Figuarts action figure under their "CineToy TAMASHII" series, which focuses on film and television properties. The latest addition is "Ahsoka Tano" from the "Star Wars: Ahsoka" series, with a suggested retail price of 13,200 JPY (tax included) and an anticipated release in July 2024!
The "Star Wars: Ahsoka" series builds upon the animated shows "Star Wars: The Clone Wars" (released in 2008) and "Star Wars Rebels" (released in 2014). It follows Ahsoka five years after the fall of the Empire as she investigates the potential return of Grand Admiral Thrawn. She reunites with her former apprentice, Sabine Wren, to aid in the investigation, and along the way, attempts to locate their old comrade, Ezra Bridger.
This new figure faithfully recreates Ahsoka's attire from her first appearance at the Arcana Temple. It features her black sleeveless top paired with wide-legged pants wrapped in armor around the calves. The included cloak accessory perfectly captures Ahsoka's dignified presence as a Jedi Master years later. The intricate face sculpt, at 1/12 scale, accurately captures the likeness of actress Rosario Dawson. Even the Togruta's distinctive blue and white montrals and lekku on her head replicate the subtle textured wrinkles seen in the live-action series.
The figure comes with a wealth of accessories, including two interchangeable face parts, three pairs of interchangeable hand parts, Ahsoka's iconic pair of white lightsabers (one long, one short) with their slightly curved hilts and effect parts, a cloak, a spherical map used to locate her ultimate destination, and a damaged version of the map. One of the interchangeable face parts features Ahsoka with a slightly pursed lip expression, conveying her exertion during battle, yet somehow still radiating a touch of cuteness (?!).
