Following "Frieren, Hero Himmel," SEGA Prize, a popular series under Japan's SEGA Games, is once again releasing new merchandise based on the highly popular anime "Frieren: Beyond Journey's End" for its "Desktop × Decorate Collections" series—"Fern" and "Stark." These are scheduled to be released as crane game prizes in April 2024!
"Frieren: Beyond Journey's End" explores the fleeting yet brilliant nature of human life from the subjective perspective of its elven protagonist, Frieren, with the theme of lifespan central to the entire work, creating a melancholic yet heartwarming atmosphere. In the story, Frieren's former teammates, the priest Heiter and the warrior Eisen, have disciples—"Fern" and "Stark"—who embark on a journey with Frieren to find the souls of her comrades, fulfilling their masters' requests. The romantic tension between Fern and Stark is one of the most highly anticipated topics among other characters and viewers. That feeling of mutual affection without either taking the next step is so tantalizing that it prompted the priest Sein to utter the classic line, "Just date already!" in episode 17 of the anime!
This time, the "Desktop × Decorate Collections Fern" and "Desktop × Decorate Collections Stark" figures, similar to the Frieren and Himmel figures released in February, capture a dynamic pose with clothes and hair gently swaying in a breeze. Details such as Stark's bandages and the hair ornament Frieren gave to Fern are meticulously reproduced. Displaying the pair together creates a subtly beautiful atmosphere, making one want to join Sein in shouting, "Just date already!"
