The action figure brand "S.H.Figuarts," released by BANDAI SPIRITS' Collectors Division TAMASHII NATIONS, recently announced that the "Sunraku" (Sanraku) action figure from "Shangri-La Frontier: Crappy Game Hunter Challenges God-Tier Game" will be released starting August 2024! The suggested retail price is 7,500 Japanese Yen.
The web novel-turned-manga "Shangri-La Frontier: Crappy Game Hunter Challenges God-Tier Game," written by Japanese author "Katarina" and illustrated by "Ryosuke Fuji," tells the story of protagonist "Rakuro Hizutome," who is obsessed with "crappy games." Following a recommendation from a game store clerk, he begins playing "Shangri-La Frontier," a full-dive virtual reality game with over thirty million players, hailed as a "god-tier game."
Having played countless games and possessing top-tier gaming knowledge and skill, Hizutome transforms into "Sunraku," a half-naked wanderer with a blue bird head. Despite his extremely low defense and having sold almost all his equipment, he boasts high agility and luck. Sunraku's unconventional approach to clearing the game leads him to encounter unique monsters and storylines that are difficult to trigger early in the game.
The "S.H.Figuarts Sunraku" stands approximately 15 cm tall, faithfully recreating his iconic blue bird head and half-naked appearance from the game. To clarify, he isn't wearing only shorts because he's a pervert; it's because he was branded with the "Curse of Lycaon" after battling the unique monster "Wezaemon the Tomb Protector," preventing him from wearing armor in that area! The Curse of Lycaon manifests as the dark red scars covering Sunraku's body. The bird head features four interchangeable expression parts, allowing for the recreation of various emotional states from the series. Accessories include the Deadly Kitchen Knife (致命の包丁), Lake-Swamp Dagger (湖沼の短剣), and Rabbit Moon Twin Blades (兎月【上弦】【下弦】). With full articulation, you can pose him in serious yet hilarious combat stances.
