From Japan's Bandai Co., Ltd. Gashapon brand, the "MS MECHANICAL BUST" series of capsule toys, based on the "Mobile Suit Gundam" theme, today announced the latest information on its sixth product, "Strike Freedom Gundam Type II," from the theatrical animation "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM." Pre-orders are scheduled to open on March 8, 2024, on the official GASHAPON ONLINE store.
The main character Kira Yamato's new mobile suit, the ZGMF/A-262B Strike Freedom Gundam Type II, is a new machine developed using the latest technology from Morgenroete, after the original "Strike Freedom Gundam" was shot down following a failed terrorist attempt to steal it half a year before the main story of "FREEDOM." While its external appearance hasn't changed significantly, all its armaments, except for the high-energy beam rifle, have been updated. Notably, it secretly houses a powerful "Convergent Heavy Nuclear Beam Cannon" in its forehead, but due to its excessive destructive power and high energy consumption, it cannot be used in this form.
The "Strike Freedom Gundam Type II" released this time is a modification of the Strike Freedom Gundam from the fourth installment. It uses gold parts to recreate its distinctive frame and new parts to reproduce the powerful "Convergent Heavy Nuclear Beam Cannon" hidden in its forehead. Both the head and the abdomen's Peregrine-type multi-phase beam cannon ports can accommodate a light-up unit. Similar to previous products, once you collect both the "Exterior Armor Set" with its high-density detailed sculpting and the "Internal Mechanical Set" which includes intricate internal structures and one light-up unit (yellow light), you can attach the exterior parts to the internal mechanism to assemble a Gundam bust approximately 10 cm tall.
