Japanese capsule toy brand Shine-G announced the release of the second installment in their "Collecting Cats" series of gashapon products—"Collecting Cats 2: Let's Make Cat Dango! (tentative title)", with a reference price of 400 JPY per capsule, scheduled for release in June 2024!
Yasuhiro Sayama is an artist from Saitama Prefecture. Since around 1994, he has created numerous cat sculptures, ink paintings, and Japanese paintings, using his beloved cat "Mi-chan" (ミーちゃん) as his model.
For this "Collecting Cats 2: Cat Dango" release, Shine-G has once again collaborated with artist Yasuhiro Sayama, known for his expertise in drawing cats and creating cat models. The theme revolves around cats gathering and stacking up like dango, resulting in five adorable designs of cats lounging on soft cushions. These include "Silver Tabby + Cushion", "Orange Tabby + Bed", "Tuxedo Cat + Pillow", "Calico Cat + Pillow", and "Brown and White Tabby + Pillow". Each cat is depicted with sleepy, squinting eyes and a heartwarming pose, resting on its soft cushion. Each design is adorable on its own, but once all five are collected, you can use the orange tabby's bed part to stack all the cats into one giant cat dango, creating an irresistibly cute display!
