Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS company's prize figure brand BANPRESTO will release large plush toys under the theme of the 'Rare Beast Capture Series'. The first installment, "Phantom Tsuchinoko", officially debuted on March 7, 2024! There's a chance to capture it at major electronic amusement arcades across Japan!
The unidentified mysterious animal (UMA) known as the Notsuchi snake, said to have lived in various parts of Japan since ancient times, is often referred to as the Tsuchinoko. It possesses a plump body, astonishing jumping ability, and potent venom. Since the Edo period, there have been sightings across the Japanese mainland, but no one has ever definitively captured a Notsuchi snake. It is generally speculated that sightings are often mistaken identifications of the "blue-tongued skink," which also has a short, stout body.
The "Large Plush Toy Rare Beast Capture Series Phantom Tsuchinoko" is designed based on the legendary image of the Tsuchinoko. Its facial expression and characteristic form have been meticulously crafted into a plush toy, boasting an impressive size of approximately 100 cm! It can be found in crane games, and holding it feels like capturing a rare animal~
