BANDAI SPIRITS' Collectors Division, TAMASHII NATIONS, which issues the "S.H.MonsterArts" series combining exquisite monster sculpting with outstanding articulation technology, today announced the confirmed commercialization of its latest product, "Godzilla (2023) Minus Color Ver.," from the film "Godzilla Minus One/C." Detailed product information will be released at a later date.

The Godzilla that appeared in "Godzilla Minus One" was originally an ancient creature inhabiting the deep seas around Odo Island, referred to by local residents as "Gojira." With a body resembling a carnivorous dinosaur, it stood approximately 15 meters tall and possessed an extraordinary regenerative ability that made it impervious to firearms. In 1945, during the final stages of World War II, it attacked invading Japanese forces, causing significant casualties. However, in 1946, after the war, American nuclear tests near Bikini Atoll caused Gojira to mutate and grow into Godzilla, reaching a height of 50 meters. Its exaggerated regenerative capabilities allowed it to recover instantly even after being bombarded by naval vessels, and it could emit a nuclear-bomb-level high-power heat ray from its mouth.
The "S.H.MonsterArts Godzilla (2023) Minus Color Ver." is once again sculpted and painted by renowned monster原型師 (prototype sculptor) Yuji Sakai. Based on the 3D model used in the film, it is立体化 (three-dimensionalized) as an articulated figure approximately 16 cm tall, thoroughly recreating the robust physique reminiscent of the Heisei series Godzilla, the rough skin resembling deep-sea reefs, and the sharp, massive coral-like dorsal fins. The overall articulation inherits the characteristics of previous products, featuring multiple flexible joints in the jaw, neck, torso, limbs, and tail. This release also introduces, for the first time in the series, an independent articulation mechanism for each toe, recreating scenes of its colossal feet crushing the earth.
The biggest difference observed so far from the regular version is that the overall paint scheme will be changed to grayscale colors, consistent with the film's Minus Color version "Godzilla Minus One/C," recreating the vintage texture of a black and white film. Whether there will be any additions or subtractions to the accessories has not yet been announced.
