To commemorate the 25th anniversary of the TV anime "Digimon Adventure," Bandai Toys Japan has not only released the commemorative product "Digivice -25th COLOR EVOLUTION-" but also a deluxe version specifically for fans who are even more passionate about the original "Digimon" anime: the "Digivice -25th COLOR EVOLUTION- DX Set." This version will feature the familiar Taichi Yagami and Yamato Ishida color schemes and is scheduled for release in July 2024, simultaneously with the standard version.
The Digivice is the device used by the "DigiDestined" in the original anime "Digimon Adventure," possessing various functions such as evolving partner Digimon, purifying dark forces, and locating companions. In reality, Bandai also released a virtual pet product with the same design in 1999, allowing players to raise various Digimon in this small LCD toy. Players could advance the game through a pedometer-like swing device, training, caring for, and evolving their Digimon to become stronger, defeating various powerful enemies encountered on their journey.
The overall hardware and software evolution of the "Digivice -25th COLOR EVOLUTION- DX Set" is the same as the standard version introduced previously. Not only can players relive the story of the original "Digimon Adventure" by playing as the DigiDestined, but it also features a color LCD screen, USB Type-C rechargeable battery, full-color LED lights, and a vibration motor, reproducing the passionate evolution scenes from the show with rich sound and light effects.
The only differences in the product are the color scheme of the Digivice unit itself and several DX version bonuses. The Taichi Yagami version features a transparent orange casing symbolizing the Crest of Courage, with blue buttons, while the Yamato Ishida version features a transparent blue casing symbolizing the Crest of Friendship, with white buttons. Both DX versions will include the following luxurious bonuses:
1. Badges and Pendant
These are three-dimensional reproductions of the badges worn by the "DigiDestined" in the show, with newly designed parts based on the anime settings. It includes 8 transparent badge parts (Courage, Friendship, Love, Sincerity, Knowledge, Purity, Hope, Light) that can be freely interchanged. The back of the pendant is engraved with the 25th-anniversary LOGO, and the chain length is 70 cm, allowing it to be worn as regular jewelry.
2. Commemorative Art Book
A printed art book containing original design drafts and actual pixel art used in the "Digivice -25th COLOR EVOLUTION-" game software.
3. Special Camping Items
Special items tied to the DX version console, usable in the game's camping scenes. The Taichi version grants "Digivice Taichi Ver.," "Taichi's Goggles," and "Fried Chicken," while the Yamato version grants "Digivice Yamato Ver.," "Yamato's Harmonica," and "Curry Rice."
