From Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company's HOBBY Division, the 1/144 scale Gunpla 'HG (High Grade)' series, known for its diverse range of mobile suits, today announced the latest product from "Mobile Suit Gundam The Witch from Mercury", the 'HG 1/144 GUND-NODE', scheduled for release in June 2024. This product will be sold exclusively on Bandai's official online store, PREMIUM BANDAI.
The XGF-E3 GUND-NODE is a Mobile Suit-type GUND sub-unit developed by Prospera (Elnora Samaya) specifically for the Gundam Aerial (Rebuild) while simultaneously working on the "Quiet Zero" development project. This unit possesses a 19-meter class body size, identical to standard Mobile Suits, and is equipped with a Beam Revolver Rifle and Beam Sabers. When outfitted with a large armored backpack, it can also function as a MOBILE ARMOR. When linked with the Gundam Aerial, it not only serves as a powerful unmanned escort unit, but a large number of GUND-NODEs can also connect to each other to expand the range of the Data Storm space.
The "HG 1/144 GUND-NODE" faithfully recreates the design by mechanical designer Kanetake Ebikawa using entirely new parts. It features multiple molded color parts and separation designs, allowing for the reproduction of the dark-toned mobile suit color scheme upon assembly. Green glowing areas such as the twin-eye cameras and scope are reproduced with reflective stickers. The characteristic glowing areas of GUND-ARM type mobile suits, such as the forehead, chest, and backpack, are composed of clear black covers paired with stickers, offering a choice between red and blue reflective stickers for production.
For weaponry, it includes a newly produced Beam Revolver Rifle, which recreates the beam machine gun mode through its revolving mechanism. The accessories include two long and two short beam saber effect parts, which can be attached to the arms to reproduce their deployed state. The backpack can also be transformed by replacing parts, allowing for the attachment of effect parts to recreate the net-like lines when expanding the Data Storm space. The connectors of the effect parts are designed to allow GUND-NODEs to link with each other, reproducing the scene from the show where numerous GUND-NODEs are infinitely connected.
