Aoshima Bunka Kyozai's assembly model brand ACKS, following the release of the "VF-31A Makina Nakajima" in their Macross Mecha Girl assembly model 'V.F.G.' series, today announced the latest product from Macross Delta, the "VF-31J Freyja Wion", scheduled for release in August 2024.
'Variable Fighter Girl' is an assembly model product that combines variable fighters from the Macross series with an articulated girl body, the "VF Girl". The fighter jet itself can replicate the three transformation stages from the anime, while the "VF Girl" body features excellent articulation and can be posed in various ways with interchangeable expressions, hands, and accessories. Not only can both be enjoyed separately, but they can also be combined through an original transformation mechanism to form a cool and cute mecha girl mode. This release features Freyja Wion, a member of the musical tactical unit 'Walküre' from Macross Delta, and the "VF-31J Siegfried" fighter jet piloted by the protagonist, Hayate Immelmann.
The "VF Girl" articulated body for Freyja features an original model design of a tight-fitting combat suit. Some color blocks and lines are pre-painted, and the interchangeable expression parts include two pre-printed faces and three faces that require water decals for customization, allowing for a significant recreation of the character's colors even with a straight build. The body boasts flexible articulated joints and can be posed in various everyday, concert, or combat scenarios with accessories such as a microphone, a Windermere apple from her hometown, a mobile phone, a drone-shaped display stand, and a chibi Walküre.
The approximately 20 cm long "VF-31J Siegfried" deviates from its original blue and white color scheme, adopting an orange-red palette reminiscent of a Windermere apple, based on Freyja's original combat suit style. Even the loudspeakers mounted on its wings are shaped like apples. It also includes original design aircraft markings, adding richer details to the fuselage beyond the armor lines. By swapping parts, it can replicate the three forms: FIGHTER, GERWALK, and BATTROID, and combine with the Makina body to form an original mecha girl mode. This release also includes new "two-finger V-sign" hand parts to express Freyja's lively and cute personality.
