Japanese model manufacturer KOTOBUKIYA, in collaboration with Japanese mechanical designer moi for the plastic model kit series "Japan Ground Self-Defense Force Type 07-III Tank NACCHIN," recently announced a new product in collaboration with the classic Japanese robot anime "Armored Trooper VOTOMS": the "Japan Ground Self-Defense Force Type 07-III Tank NACCHIN [Scopedog Ver.]," scheduled for release in August 2024.
The Japan Ground Self-Defense Force Type 07-III Tank Nacchin is an original character created by Japanese mechanical designer moi. It is equipped with a "Highly Advanced Future Prediction AI" successfully developed in 2090 AD, possessing human-like personality and communication abilities. It utilizes Type 07 composite heat-resistant armor and new N-type nickel-hydrogen batteries, and its flexible arms can wield various armaments. However, its overly human-like nature tends to keep people at a distance. Only Captain Natsuki Kikuri named her personal unit "Nacchin" (Little Seven) and treats it like a squad member. In addition to the standard model, various versions have been developed for different purposes, with the gray unit being a specialized urban suppression type with enhanced reconnaissance capabilities.
This product combines NACCHIN with the iconic AT (Armored Trooper) unit "Scopedog" from the series, recreating its unique design using numerous new parts for the head, shoulder armor, waist unit, and more. The kit is molded in 8 different colors, and once assembled, the entire body boasts 65 points of articulation, including pull-out shoulder joints and sliding hip joints. The Scopedog-esque NACCHIN not only carries its signature "Heavy Machine Gun," but its triple-rotating camera on the head can also rotate just like the original unit.
The eye parts include one pre-painted (forward-gazing face) and three types that require self-assembly using water-slide decals. The entire body also features 18 expansion ports with 3mm specifications, but this version does not include a cockpit seat. It can be customized with separately sold NACCHIN series products or other KOTOBUKIYA plastic model kits like "M.S.G." Furthermore, KOTOBUKIYA is simultaneously releasing a "Melchian Army Color" version, available exclusively through official channels such as the KOTOBUKIYA SHOP.
