American toy manufacturer Diamond Select Toys' Marvel action figure series "Marvel Select" has announced its latest Marvel Comics-themed product—the "War Machine" 1/10 scale action figure, with a suggested retail price of US$29.99, slated for release in Q4 2024!
We're sure many collectors are familiar with War Machine from the movies, but today we're bringing you the comic book version of War Machine! War Machine's real name is James Rupert "Rhodey" Rhodes, an American Marine born in South Philadelphia. During a mission, Rhodey's helicopter crash-landed in the jungle. While repairing his helicopter, he coincidentally met Tony Stark, who had escaped from the warlord Mandarin while wearing the original Iron Man suit, thus beginning their legendary partnership. In the early days, Rhodey mostly appeared as a supporting character. It wasn't until issue #169 of the comic, when Tony was drunk, that Rhodey first donned the Iron Man armor, later officially becoming the new superhero—War Machine.
This Marvel Select War Machine faithfully recreates War Machine's comic book appearance, with silver and black armor revealing the muscular physique beneath.
