Japanese toy brand MEDICOM TOY's popular 6-inch action figure series "MAFEX" recently announced a new Marvel Comics-themed product—the "Spider-Man 2099 Comic Ver." action figure. The suggested retail price is 12,980 JPY, and it is scheduled for release in February 2025!

We believe many of you are already somewhat familiar with Spider-Man 2099 from last year's hit animated film "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse"! Spider-Man 2099, whose real name is Miguel O'Hara, first appeared in "Spider-Man 2099" #1, published in 1992. He was a geneticist at Alchemax. After discovering the company's unethical human experimentation, he attempted to resign but was forced by Alchemax Vice President Tyler Stone to drink an addictive, spider-gene-infused drug. After a desperate attempt to save himself, he gained partial spider abilities and subsequently transformed into the new superhero, Spider-Man 2099!

This product stands approximately 15.5 cm tall, faithfully recreating Spider-Man 2099's comic book appearance. The dark blue spider suit is accented with red details and spikes on the arms, while the chest features a skull and spider motif, highlighting Miguel's unique Spider-Man identity. Accessories include various lengths of web effects and a recreation of his iconic broken web cape, presented with multiple interchangeable parts that, combined with the figure's high articulation, allow collectors to pose him in a variety of cool dynamic stances!
