ROBOT魂 ver. A.N.I.M.E. Series to Release Iconic Mobile Suits from 'Z Gundam' Including "High Mobility Zaku," "GM Cannon," and "Gouf Flight Test Type"!

Following releases such as the "Gundam MK-II" and "Rick Dias," the robot-themed action figure series 'ROBOT魂 ver. A.N.I.M.E.', issued by Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Collectors Division TAMASHII NATIONS, has once again announced the commercialization of several new products from 'Mobile Suit Z Gundam': "High Mobility Zaku," "GM Cannon Jaburo Base Specification," and "Gouf Flight Test Type Jaburo Base Specification."

・RMS-106 High Mobility Zaku
In the 'Z Gundam' era, after the One Year War, the Earth Federation Forces took over the design of the Zeon mobile suit "Zaku II F2 Type." Based on this, they combined technologies from both factions to develop the next-generation Zaku, the "RMS-106 High Mobility Zaku." Improvements were made to various components, including lightweight armor, increased fuel capacity, and new thrusters. While it could be equipped with beam rifles and beam sabers, the power system suffered from poor design due to the mixed use of Zeon's fluid pulse drive and the Federation's motor drive. It could only operate with one beam weapon at a time, often utilizing combinations such as "Zaku Machine Gun + Beam Saber" or "Beam Rifle + Heat Hawk."

・RGC-80 GM Cannon Jaburo Base Specification
During the early to mid-One Year War, the mass production plan for the RX-77 series "Guncannon" was underway but couldn't keep up with the Zeon forces' invasion speed. Consequently, a simplified mass-production model, the "RGC-80 GM Cannon," was designed using 60% of "RGM-79 GM" parts. Although its materials and armaments were relatively simplified, with only one 240mm cannon on its shoulder, its low cost and ease of maintenance made it practical as an emergency unit, with 48 units produced before the end of the war. Years later, in the 'Z Gundam' era, the surviving GM Cannons underwent partial modernization and were deployed at Jaburo Base, earning the nickname "Red Head" due to their distinctive large-area red paint scheme.

・MS-07H Gouf Flight Test Type Jaburo Base Specification
During the One Year War, to overcome the problem of insufficient atmospheric flight range for mobile suits, the Principality of Zeon military modified four YMS-07 Gouf prototypes into the MS-07H Gouf Flight Test Type, capable of independent flight, by adding thermonuclear rocket engines to their legs. However, after being sent to Earth for testing, problems emerged one by one, including excessive weight, insufficient fuel capacity leading to unstable speed and limited range. Despite modifications to address these issues and several experiments, progress remained unsuccessful. Ultimately, after a severe mid-air explosion accident involving Unit 4, the development plan was halted. Years later, in the 'Z Gundam' era, the Earth Federation Forces took over these units and implemented numerous improvements, including the use of mature "thermonuclear jet engines" in the legs. All four units were deployed at Jaburo Base.
